If not dealt with during the bankruptcy case, the lien will survive the bankruptcy case's discharge. Then when the home seller tries to sell or his or refinance a mortgage, the lien will have to be paid off in order to gain clear title.
The homeowner/debtor has to either pay off the lien or go back to the bankruptcy court to try to avoid the lien.
